Scholarships For Currently Enrolled Students

Scholarships may be available to currently enrolled SCAD students based on academic achievement, financial need, or a combination of the two. To be eligible, students must be on schedule to complete a minimum of 45 undergraduate hours or 15 graduate hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter. The scholarship application for current students is available online during the month of April only. Applicants are automatically considered for all applicable scholarships. SCAD scholarship offers for undergraduate students vary according to whether students reside in SCAD housing. Current students who have been accepted to study on an off-campus program may apply to receive travel scholarships. These scholarships are administered through the office of financial aid.

Below is a list of the best scholarships available through SCAD:

#1. SCAD eLearning Pre-college Scholarship

SCAD eLearning Pre-college Scholarship is one of the SCAD Scholarships designed for newly enrolled High School students. To qualify for this scholarship, you must follow the application requirements for first-time freshmen, be recommended for joint enrollment by a counselor or teacher, and be admitted for joint enrollment. However, this award may only be applied toward courses completed as a part-time non-degree-seeking joint-enrolled student. Joint enrollment students who have taken courses on a non-degree-seeking basis and who wish to become degree-seeking must reapply as degree-seeking students and adhere to all first-time freshman admission requirements. In the area of reward, the scholarship award is based on enrollment in three classes (15 credit hours) each quarter. Tuition Fees: Receive up to a half-tuition scholarship

#2. Legacy Scholarship

Tuition Fees: Scholarships of at least US $3,000 This SCAD Scholarship is given to SCAD alumni who are interested in pursuing an undergraduate degree program or Graduate. Note, once you receive this legacy scholarship, you are not entitled to any other SCAD Scholarships. However, the scholarship may be renewed quarterly through completion of a bachelor’s degree (or up to 225 attempted hours) provided the recipient remains enrolled at SCAD and maintains a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

#3. SCAD Honors

Scholarship Worth: Please contact the provider SCAD Honors is a scholarship for Students at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD)who are graduates who during their stay in school demonstrated exceptional academic performance. However, to qualify for this honor, you must have Graduate Record Examination scores of 600 or above on the verbal section, 740 or above on the quantitative section. And also a 5 or higher on the analytical writing section; a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale; or presentation of an outstanding portfolio, audition, or writing submission and above-average grades and test scores.

#4. Graduate Fellowships

Scholarship Worth: Please contact the provider Graduate Fellowships are designed for students who are still running their graduate programs who merit a scholarship. However, to be awarded this scholarship, you must be a committed leader in your school with full responsible in either your faculty or department. Note, Applicants must present a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.3 (on a four-point scale), and must submit a superior-quality portfolio and statement of purpose. Qualified semi-finalists may be invited to participate in an interview to determine the final selection.

#5. International Student Scholarship

Scholarship Worth: US $1,000 – US $7,500 per year Unlike SCAD Academic Scholarships, SCAD Achievement Scholarships are for students who have demonstrated excellence in all ramifications. Not only in the academic field but overall.

#8. Student Opportunity Scholarship

Scholarship Worth: Please contact the provider Awarded to accepted undergraduate or graduate students who meet or exceed the normal SCAD admission standards and who demonstrate financial need. These scholarships may be awarded in addition to any other scholarship awarded by SCAD, as long as the total SCAD award does not exceed the cost of tuition. Contact the admission department to know if you are eligible.

#9. International Baccalaureate Scholarship

Scholarship Worth: At least US $3,000 and up to the US $15,000 on a score-based scale, per year International Baccalaureate diploma recipients who apply, are accepted and enroll at SCAD, having met or exceeded admission requirements, are awarded a scholarship of enrollment at SCAD, up to 225 attempted quarter hours, or until completion of a bachelor’s degree. This award may not be granted in addition to other academic scholarships.

#10. SCAD and ACA Alumni Scholarship

Scholarship Worth: At least US $250 per course Awarded to SCAD and ACA alumni who apply and are accepted to any undergraduate or graduate program at SCAD. The application fee and enrollment fee are waived for SCAD and ACA alumni accepted into a SCAD degree program, and their SCAD transcript may be requested by SCAD admission at no charge. This scholarship may not be granted in addition to other SCAD scholarships.

#11. Educator Scholarship

Scholarship Worth: The scholarship amount is based on enrollment in three classes (15 credit hours) each quarter. The amount is prorated for those who enroll in fewer classes. Educators who are employed full-time or in an adjunct capacity at the kindergarten through university level at a public or private institution recognized by the applicant’s state department of education at the time of application may be eligible to receive a half-tuition scholarship to attend SCAD at any location or via SCAD eLearning. To be eligible to receive this award, an educator must apply and be accepted to SCAD and must provide proof of employment in good standing from his or her school administrator or human resources department. These awards are available to qualified applicants to undergraduate or graduate degree programs at SCAD.

#12. Multicultural Student Scholarships

Scholarship Worth: Please contact the provider A limited number of scholarships may be awarded each year to help make the benefits of post-secondary or postgraduate education available to degree-seeking students of various ethnic backgrounds who apply and are accepted to SCAD. Students should meet or exceed normal admission standards and must request scholarship consideration by submitting a 500-word essay that addresses how their artwork, goals, and experiences are influenced by their cultural background.

#13. Athletics Award

Scholarship Worth: Please contact the provider Awarded to undergraduate students who demonstrate outstanding athletic ability and individual merit. Criteria include high school academic record, standardized test scores, recommendations, achievements, leadership in extracurricular activities, and other documentation of ability to contribute to and benefit from the educational experience at SCAD.
