Springfield College is a private, coeducational college located in Springfield, Massachusetts. The institution offers undergraduate, post-graduate, and doctoral degrees. Basketball was invented in the college in 1891 by Canadian graduate student James Naismith. The college has a philosophy of “humanity” which calls for the education of the whole person (in spirit, mind, and body) for leadership in service to others. The College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

Springfield College offers bachelor’s degrees in more than 40 majors, master’s degrees in a variety of different fields, and doctoral programs in counseling psychology, physical therapy, and physical education.
