The Zambian Army is a unit under the Zambian Defense force and all its branches, Zambian nationals register when they are sixteen. This is however done with the consent of their parents as they will be required to be part of the organization. This service is not forceful as candidates have to possess a Grade 12 certification and be citizens of Zambia. Statistics show that there are over 3 million men between 16 and 49 which doesn’t mean all of them can be conscripted. Over two million men and women have been tagged as military fit as 1.55% of Zambia’s GDP is spent on the military. The Zambian Army is rated as the 177th best Army in the World. Eligibility Requirements for Zambian Army Recruitment
Before anyone can register to be part of the Zambian Army, they should check if they align with the requirements. These requirements are;
Possession of 14 points and below at Grade 12 level which should contain English, Mathematics, Science, and any two subjects.You should be between 18 and 25 years.Must be a Zambian citizen and have a green national registration card.Must not have any criminal record.Applicants must be deemed medically, mentally, and physically fit.Possess a height of 5’8 for males and 5’4 for females.Female candidates shouldn’t be pregnant at the time of applicationMust be a Zambian and posses a green national registration card
Categories and Qualification
The categories and qualifications consist of commissioned and non-commissioned officers. For Commissioned officers under the Zambian Army Recruitment;
They must possess 14 points and below.They have to be 25 years and below for college leavers; 27 years for specialists including engineers, clinic officers, accountants; and 35 years for medical doctors
